SEYMOUR, Ind. – The Seymour Police Department was contacted by the Indiana Department of Child Services on Sunday and advised that a 10-month-old child had tested positive for methamphetamine at Schneck Medical Center. The infant was admitted to the hospital for observation.
After meeting with the department of child services officials, detectives developed probable cause to obtain a Jackson Superior Court 1 search warrant for 390 S. Jackson Park Dr., Apt. 206, in Seymour. The warrant was executed at around 8:30 p.m. and during the search, investigators allegedly located meth and marijuana.
Edward J. Swindall, 48, of Seymour, was arrested for possession of meth. More charges are expected. Another individual claimed responsibility for the marijuana and charges will be filed with the prosecutor.
The child was in stable condition. The investigation is ongoing.
