NORTH VERNON, Ind. – The Jennings County Sheriff’s Office investigated a possible sexual assault Friday morning at a residence in County Squire Lakes. Deputies also learned of possible drug dealing at the suspect’s residence and were able to obtain a search warrant.
Law enforcement allegedly found and seized over 100 grams of methamphetamine, plus marijuana, drug-related items, a large amount of U.S. currency, and multiple semi-automatic rifles with a large amount of ammunition.
Based on the evidence found during the investigation, two individuals were taken into custody without incident and are currently being housed in the Jennings County Jail.
Duane Kendall, 54, of North Vernon, was preliminarily charged with rape, criminal confinement, theft, dealing in meth, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Jason Stratton, 44, of Arizona, was booked for visiting a common nuisance.
