COLUMBUS, Ind. – Columbus hosted a three-day celebration this past weekend as the Hindu and Columbus communities came together for a Temple Consecration at Sri Ganesh Mandir— the $1.2 million, 10,000-square-foot structure at 7930 W. Goeller Road, next to the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Columbus.
The events took place from August 26 to August 28. Highlights included a Celebration of Indian Art and Culture through dance and music on Saturday and an Indian Ethnic Food Festival featuring Indian delicacies on Sunday.
Day 3 included the Kumbhabhishekam, a ritual performed during the consecration of a new temple and then every 12 years going forward.
