TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – CANDLES Holocaust Museum and Education Center, in Terre Haute, hosted Rep. Jim Lucas (R-Seymour) on Thursday after the state legislator received criticism for sharing a purported quote from Nazi chief propagandist Joesph Goebbels on Facebook.
Officials said Rep. Lucas visited the museum on his own accord eager to learn about the museum, Eva Kor, and the lessons of the Holocaust.
“It was a positive visit, and we shared a great conversation about the importance of Holocaust education in Indiana,” a CANDLES statement said. “We appreciate opportunities to build stronger communities through conversations like we had today.”
CANDLES condemned the since-deleted post on Wednesday.
