SELLERSBURG, Ind. – The Indiana State Police (ISP) in Sellersburg are requesting the public’s assistance in a death investigation that began this weekend. While mushroom hunting on Saturday at 730 p.m., an area resident found the body of a male child near a roadway in a wooded area of eastern Washington County.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Department responded and then called ISP to investigate. Detectives need help in identifying the child. He is described as a young, black male between five and eight years old, about four feet tall, with a slim build and a short haircut.
Investigators believe the young male died sometime within the last week. A time or cause of death has not been released, pending an autopsy.
