NORTH VERNON, Ind. – The Jennings County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) is continuing to clean up the local narcotic world by arresting area drug dealers and now sets its sights on another cleanup adventure.
Sheriff Kenny Freeman wants to rid the county roads of trash. He said, “We need to educate our kids not to throw garbage out on our roads and in the woods. And, we also need our kids to teach some of their parents not to litter.”
Right now, JCSO is using inmate workers to pick up the trash. but it is encouraging other citizens to get involved to help tidy up Jennings County roads and highways.
Freeman added, “We have a treasure of natural beauty here in our county. Please take the time to notice it, enjoy it, and keep it that way.”
