SEYMOUR, Ind. – The Jackson County United Way (JCUW) is now accepting request forms for community projects to be completed at the Annual Day of Caring on May 10. Individuals and nonprofit organizations can request outdoor projects anywhere in Jackson County. Ramps, plumbing, and electrical work will not be considered.
“So far, we’ve had around 20 projects submitted. We’d love to triple that number and get back to our pre-COVID amount,” Engagement Director, Emily Engelking stated.
JCUW is also seeking volunteers to complete the projects. Work can be done individually or in groups. It is a chance for businesses to get involved in the community and work on teambuilding. Volunteers are assigned to projects based on need or interest and will have knowledge of any materials needed beforehand.
Project request/volunteer forms can be filled out online at www.jacsy.org/dayofcaring. Any other questions can be answered by calling Emily Engelking at 812-522-5450 ext. 4.
