COLUMBUS, Ind. – Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) deputies received verification that a stolen vehicle was entering Bartholomew County at around 7:15 a.m.on Sunday. The notification came courtesy of the Flock Camera system recently installed by Bartholomew County.
Deputies located the stolen car in the 3000 block of South National Road, near State Road 46. After drugs and drug-related paraphernalia were allegedly found inside the vehicle, the driver, Skyler Maggard, 27, Indianapolis, was arrested and taken to the Bartholomew County Jail. He has since been released.
Bartholomew County Sheriff Matt Myers said, “The BCSO Flock Camera system has, so far, been very successful.” Following his attendance at the National Sheriff’s Conference and the Indiana Sheriff’s Conference, Myers said that the Flock Camera was a huge topic of discussion. It is being considered along the southern border.
