COLUMBUS, Ind. – Columbus Regional Health (CRH) was looking for a way to give back to its staff for all of the hard work and long, exhausting hours during the pandemic. They wanted a chance for their team to come together, have fun as a group, and just try to forget about the craziness they have been through over the past two years.
CRH contacted Sean McAuliffe, owner of Farrell’s Extreme Bodyshaping in Columbus, at U.S. 31 and Washington Street, with the idea of partnering to give nurses, doctors, and all employees the chance to blow off some steam.
They got that chance twice this week. Some of the hospital staff worked out at the gym on Wednesday and several nurses are attending kickboxing sessions on Friday.
“The workers are relieving frustration and having a little fun at Farrell’s,” said McAuliffe. “I love the idea of being able to give back to the medical workers, they deserve it. Almost every day we had heard about them being away from their families, their stress, and their feeling of being overwhelmed.”
