FRANKLIN, Ind. – Because Indiana eased its COVID-19 quarantine protocols on Thursday, Franklin Community Schools (FCS) announced that effective immediately, the school system will no longer contact trace or quarantine students due to coronavirus. Masks are optional at school.
FCS said that if a student is ill or exhibiting COVID-like symptoms, they can return to school once they have been fever-free for 24 hours without fever-reducing medication. If your child tests positive for COVID-19, they will be able to return to school on day six as long as they have been fever-free for 24 hours with improving symptoms.
Masks continue to be required on school buses because the federal mandate is still in effect.
FCS Superintendent Dr. David Clendening stated, “We are excited to return to our pre-pandemic learning environment focusing on individual student growth. I am glad we are in this together.”
