COLUMBUS, Ind. – Last year, 2021, marked the Bicentennial for the City of Columbus and it was celebrated through both virtual and in-person events.
The year-long observance drove a lot of engagement online according to the Columbus Area Bicentennial Commission. Its website had over 14,000 visits, 30,000 page views, and more than 192,013 likes, shares, and comments on Facebook and Instagram.
There were dozens of celebrations across Bartholomew County, including 59 endorsed events that were brought to life by 62 organizations and over 100 volunteers. The city also broke ground on the 1821 Trail, which, when finished, will complete the Columbus People Trail.
