COLUMBUS, Ind. – Columbus Fire Department (CFD) firefighter Marcus Gruner was deployed Saturday afternoon to Mayfield, Kentucky, with Indiana Task Force 1 (IN-TF1) to assist with search and rescue operations after devastating tornadoes swept the state Friday night.
Indianapolis Fire Department (IFD) Division Chief and Task Force Commander Tom Neal is the Task Force Leader for this deployment. His team includes 15 members of IFD, four Indianapolis Police Department officers, eight civilian specialists, and three search dogs.
In addition to firefighter Gruner from CFD, members from over 15 other Indiana fire departments, including Bargersville and Greenwood, joined IN-TF1.
