COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Columbus Fire Department (CFD) welcomed a new member to the family on Tuesday morning. Andrew Fields was sworn in by Columbus Mayor Jim Lienhoop at the weekly Board of Public Works and Safety Meeting at City Hall.
Fields is a Columbus native and a 2016 graduate of East High School. His previous experience includes two years of service with Columbus Township Fire and Rescue, as well as one year at Edinburgh Fire and Rescue.
The new CFD member is a state-certified Rope Rescue Technician, Confined Space Rescue Technician, and EMT. Fields is also Indiana certified in Firefighter I, Firefighter II, and Fire Officer Strategy and Tactics.
