COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Columbus Fire Department (CFD) has announced the retirement of Capt. Dave Foster. He joined the department in October 1999 and is retiring with 21 years of service.
Foster was promoted to Lieutenant in 2012 and later advanced to Captain in 2015. During his career, Foster received several state certifications including Emergency Medical Technician, Hazardous Materials Technician, Rope Rescue Technician, and Swift Water Rescue Technician. He is also certified as an Aircraft Rescue Firefighter.
Capt. Foster served as a volunteer for the Columbus Firemen’s Cheer Fund during his career and served on several department committees. He was also heavily involved in training other fire department members.
