COLUMBUS, Ind. – Pastor Robert Vester, of Westside Community Church on Tipton Lakes Boulevard in Columbus, who is the senior chaplain at the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO), was recently sworn in as the Region #4 Director of Chaplains, at the International Conference of Police Chaplains Training Conference.
He will oversee approximately 450 clerics in the midwest region that includes Indiana, Kentucky, Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, and West Virginia.
“Being able to serve others who serve those who serve, in a time when it is needed more than ever, is a very special blessing and opportunity,” said Vester.
BCSO Chief Deputy Major Chris Lane added, “Chaplains offer guidance to members of our agency during crisis situations and provide comfort and counseling during tough times.”
