INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The National Weather Service (NWS) in Indianapolis has issued a High Wind Warning for central and northeast Indiana. The advisory is in effect for Thursday night into Friday morning for Johnson and Shelby Counties, plus much of Indiana north and east of those counties. Wind gusts could be as high as 50-60 mph.
NWS has also issued a High Wind Watch for Bartholomew, Jackson, Jennings, Decatur, and Brown Counties, plus most other Indiana counties not in the warning area. Expect winds around 40 mph in the High Wind Watch area.
Thunderstorms are also in the forecast for Thursday, some of which may become strong to severe during the afternoon and evening hours.
