JACKSON COUNTY, Ind. – A survey crew from Houston, Texas, was surveying a gas line in northern Jackson County Friday morning on County Road 1050N, east of State Road 11, near Little Acre, south of Jonesville.
When the crew started working early in the morning, C.R. 1050N was not flooded but waters continued to rise around their truck during the day. The surveyors were not from the area and did not expect this to happen.
The Brownstown Fire Department responded with its hovercraft and rescued and the crew from the vehicle.
No one was injured in the incident. The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and Redding Township Fire Department also assisted with getting the workers to safety.
