INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – As of Sunday, more than 1.1 million Indiana citizens have been inoculated with their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, according to the Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH).
The number of vaccinated residents has increased after the state lowered the age eligibility to 50, and opened a vaccination clinic at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. That clinic accounted for more than 10,000 appointments the first two days it opened.
The state is planning to open vaccination clinics at Ivy Tech Community College in Sellersburg and the University of Notre Dame later in March. ISDH says that 696,457 Hoosiers are fully vaccinated.
