COLUMBUS, Ind. – The League of American Bicyclists recently celebrated Columbus’ efforts to build better places for people to bike by recertifying its bronze-level “Bicycle Friendly Community” (BFC) designation.
With the award, Columbus joins 485 “Bicycle Friendly Communities” across the country in the movement to create safer streets and better biking for everyone. More than 850 communities applied for BFC recognition.
The League of American Bicyclists recognizes communities with one of five award levels: bronze, silver, gold, platinum, and diamond.
Awarded communities must renew their status every four years. Columbus was also designated as a bronze-level Bicycle Friendly Community in 2012 and 2016.
