COLUMBUS, Ind. – Authorities at the Columbus Police Department (CPD) say they are proud to have once again been honored as an accredited law enforcement agency.
Law Enforcement Accreditation is a special status accorded by the Commission on the Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA). It means the agency has met specific standards of excellence established by law enforcement practitioners in the U.S. and Canada.
CPD Chief of Police Michael Richardson said, “CALEA accreditation is an assurance that we are constantly making improvements to serve the citizens of Columbus.”
