EDINBURGH, Ind. – Several law enforcement agencies in south-central Indiana combined to catch a pair robbery suspects on Saturday afternoon. The Edinburgh Police Department says two armed individuals had allegedly taken money from Gillman Do It Best Home Center & Rental in Edinburgh and sped away in their vehicle.
The suspects made it to State Road 46, heading toward Brown County. With police in pursuit, they crashed their SUV behind the CVS Pharmacy in Nashville and fled on foot. The Brown County Sheriff’s Office says both suspects were eventually caught and arrested. One man was immediately detained and the other was found after searching the area for a couple of hours. They were transported to the Bartholomew County Jail.
Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office deputy Burton, Sheriff Matt Myers, and a K-9 officer assisted in the search. Myers said, “I will use BCSO resources whenever needed to assist neighboring counties.” A Brown County Sheriff’s Office K-9 was also used in tracking evidence and the suspects.
Also helping in the capture were the Nashville Police Department and Indiana DNR.
