FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Franklin Police Department, Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, and Greenwood Police Department announced at a media conference Wednesday afternoon that the agencies had jointly conducted a narcotics raid. “Operation United Front” targeted over 30 people.
According to law enforcement, 25 of the 34 drug dealing suspects had been taken into custody and the other nine arrests will be coming soon.
Most of the charges in “Operation United Front” are related to methamphetamine, but some individuals were arrested for heroin, fentanyl, cocaine, suboxone, and Xanax.
The suspects were from various parts of Indiana and ranged in age from the mid-20s to 60.
Franklin Police Chief Kirby Cochran stressed the urgency in “getting drugs off the street.” In the last three months, Franklin police had 38 calls related to overdoses, eight of which resulted in deaths.
