COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Decatur County Sheriff’s Office requested the assistance of the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office in a vehicle pursuit on Wednesday at around 10 p.m. The car in question was traveling from Decatur County toward Bartholomew County.
The suspect vehicle continued heading west on East State Road 46 and then west onto East 25th Street from the junction of State Road 9 and East S.R. 46.
Deputies deployed stop sticks on 25th Street causing two tires to deflate and the car’s speed to drop to 40 mph. The driver, later identified as Wade Bruffett, 44, of Harrison, Ohio, turned into the Planet Fitness parking lot before crashing into a concrete curb at Subway.
He was arrested without further incident. Deputies allegedly found alcohol and drug-related items inside Bruffett’s vehicle. The investigation is ongoing by the Decatur County Sheriff’s Office.
