COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Indiana Youth Survey (INYS) assesses students’ engagement in substance use, mental health, and gambling, and identifies risk and protective factors influencing student success.
All public and private schools are invited to participate for free, thanks to Indiana Division of Mental Health and Addiction funding. Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation (BCSC) students will take part in 2024.
Conducted biennially in even-numbered years during the spring, the INYS targets students in grades 6-12, with administration commencing on April 1.
Under HB 1447, the survey operates on an opt-in basis. BCSC has afforded parents and caregivers a 31-day window to provide consent for their students. Should a caregiver abstain from responding, the student is automatically enrolled in the survey.
Survey questions are accessible on the BCSC website and available for review by caregivers at their convenience. You can also find the questions here.
