COLUMBUS, Ind. – Columbus Police Department officers, Bartholomew County Sherriff’s Office deputies, Indiana State Police Versailles Post troopers, and their families all participated in “Shop with a Cop” at the Columbus Walmart on Sunday afternoon.
This annual event allows dozens of kids from the area to have a Christmas and shop for clothes and toys with a police officer at no cost to them.
The Columbus Police Department would like to recognize the CSA Lincoln Elementary fourth-grade classes for their $150 donation to Shop With a Cop. The students won an essay contest and decided to give half of their winnings to this important charity.
Law enforcement also thanks all who donate to this program, and especially Columbus FOP Earl Brown Lodge 89 for its organization of the event and for inviting all of the agencies to participate.
