FREETOWN, Ind. – Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) contractor Milestone Contractors LP plans to close State Road 58 in Jackson County beginning on or after Monday, July 17, for a superstructure replacement project at the bridge over Runt Run. The bridge is about a mile east of State Road 258, near County Road 375W.
State Road 58 should reopen in late September. Traffic will be routed along the official detour, which follows S.R. 258 to State Road 11 to I-65. County Road 375W will remain open to traffic on the east side of the bridge.
The existing closure on S.R. 58 at Branch Runt Run, between County Roads 900 and 950 is expected to be removed by the end of the week.
INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use caution and consider worker safety when traveling in and near construction zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
